Winter has well and truly arrived! It?s always fun to watch the catwalks at the beginning of ?the year to see what we?ll be wearing come the end. But for me it?s much more exciting to see how the trends change by the time they hit the streets. So while you?re hunting around your drawers for your gloves and warmest pairs of socks; here are five more fashionable reasons to celebrate the season!
LAYERING JACKETS AND COATS
I love winter fashion, purely for the fact that we get to layer ourselves in more of our fabulous finds- so this trend is right up my street! Plus wearing two jackets is not only fashionable, it?s also functional! In theory you can layer any jacket and coat, but capes work really well with this look. If you?re worried about looking bulky, drape the second coat/jacket across your shoulders a la Ms Palermo- simples!
Grunge-I loved it the first time round and love it even more now that I can spend some money on the incredible grunge inspired fashion around at the moment! If like me it might not be appropriate for you to rock up to your office in denim shorts, with torn tights and a check shirt slung around your hips; you can inject a bit of grunge into your wardrobe with a pair of studded boots!
JUST PLAID TARTAN
I love this trend because it?s so easy and that?s my favorite kind of trend- after all who doesn?t have a plaid shirt in their wardrobe? You can?t go wrong with this one; in blazers, coats, suits, shirts, scarves- wear as little or as much as you like!
Camo is back and it?s chic! And paired with skirts, statement bags and jewellery, it?s even feminine-who?d a thunk it? A versatile style staple for your winter wardrobe- you can even throw it together with a plaid shirt and some studded boots for a modern grunge look- happy days!
OVER THE KNEE BOOTS
Quite easily the sexiest trend of the season is the thigh high boot. Another practical trend, these boots will keep your trotters toasty as you stalk from Christmas party to Christmas party, looking very stylish all the while! For a more street look, take a cue from model Christina Caradona and stick a pair of thigh high socks with some wedge trainers.
