The creative duo behind My Trousseau is British Indian fashion designers Jazz and Suki. The sisters have spent the past eight years establishing their high-end fashion brand, JA.SU.MA which has stocked in department stores and boutiques across Europe and the Middle East including Harvey Nichols, Saks Fifth Avenue, DNA, Via Donna and Designers Lounge to name a few.
Suki divides her time between London, Paris and New Delhi; showing the collections at the Four Seasons during Paris Fashion Week and the Tents or On/Off at London Fashion Week.
Jazz has spent the last nine years training and nurturing a team of fine craftsman at their atelier just outside of Delhi. Each season the duo comes together here to create the innovative designs that go into their new collections.
My Trousseau, Indian fashion and luxury bridal wear by British Indian fashion designers.
Being British Indian fashion designers and having spent the best part of a decade travelling between Paris, London and New Delhi, the duo decided to combine their experience in international fashion with their love of Indian craftsmanship. Thus My Trousseau was born; bringing high-quality, design-focused Indian fashion and bridal wear to the UK and providing a service on par with international standards.
What?s in the name?
?Trousseau? is the French term for an age-old wedding tradition; with the help of her mother and aunts, a bride-in-waiting builds a collection of homewares and clothing including a wedding dress, in preparation of her nuptials. Although this tradition has all but died out in the West, it is still a huge part of modern South Asian weddings. In India the word trousseau has become synonymous with the wedding wardrobe. This includes three or four elaborate wedding outfits for the bride to wear during the wedding functions and a collection of more understated outfits to take with her into her new life, more commonly known as a ?dehej?.
Trousseau was a natural choice for the name of the brand- being an international tradition; it perfectly mirrored the ethos behind the brand- Indian fashion by British Indian fashion designers. To visit our London showroom book your appointment here
