You know what January needs? Colour. You know what has colour? Indian weddings. Allow us to brighten up your day with the colourful extravaganza that was Mohuya and Nabin?s wedding. The grand Addington Palace in Surrey was the setting for a full day of ceremonies and celebrations.
The day began?with a traditional Bengali wedding ceremony in the grounds of the Palace, under a canopy of blue skies and a pretty wooden mandap. The bride wore a traditional red Benarsi silk sari, with the bridesmaids in blue and gold saris.
After a costume change it was time for the civil wedding ceremony. The bride wore a custom-designed My Trousseau?gown in a peach-coloured silk, featuring a cut out back and antique gold embroidery; shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti and jewellery by Kyles Collection. The groom wore a traditional white and gold sherwani by Priya Exclusives.
In a former life Addington Palace served as a hunting lodge to King Henry VIII- fittingly Mohuya and Nabin decided on an opulent woodland theme for their reception.

With all the ceremonies done and dusted, it was time to party it up Bollywood style!
A few words from our bride…
Best bit(s) of the day: Having those special intimate moments with those you love; when it’s with the bridesmaids while your getting ready, whilst holding hands with your father before the civil ceremony, and having that small but precious time with your husband just before the reception entrance.
Any regrets?: Making sure you get those special photos with each person important to you, it’s difficult when you have over 600 guests, but it’s worth delegating someone to make sure these photos are captured. Best decision made: Having the wedding ceremony and reception party in one day. It was the best way to end such a perfect day, on a high, with all your family and friends on the dance floor.
Advice/ tips from the Bride: Make sure on the big day you relax, enjoy it, and take in every moment. It’s the best feeling when everyone you love is there around you and celebrating with you.
Testimonial for My Trousseau:
“A very big thank you to My Trousseau! I was looking high and low at designs of Asian inspired wedding gowns, but none of them were how I envisaged my gown to be, until I came across My Trousseau. From the moment you walk in to their showroom, you realise their designs and styles are just that more unique and classier than the norm. I felt they really listened to my ideas as well as suggesting their own to come up with a stunning gown. I had so many wonderful comments on the day, and I’m so glad I went down the route of a bespoke design for my wedding gown. Thank you again My Trousseau!”
Thanks Mohuya and congratulations again to you and Nabin!
